Political Expediency; No Doubt about It

Obama quits Chicago church after long controversy

By TOM RAUM
Associated Press Writer

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- Barack Obama has resigned his 20 year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago in the aftermath of inflammatory remarks by his longtime pastor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and more recent fiery remarks at the church by another minister.

Too little, too late. What about the 20 years that Barack Obama stayed in that racist church. Let's just call it what it is, nothing more than political expediency just like when he rejected his former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright. This should still be an issue and even though Democrats think associations do not matter, Barack Obama seems to think so by leaving his church.

Goodwill of the Iranians?

If I did not tell you and provide you with the quote you probably wouldn't believe it. Hey, I probably wouldn't believe that Nancy Pelosi could say anything so vile and fill of hate towards our troops and nice about our enemy but just have to remember this is Pelosi we are talking about.
She recently said this, "And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians -- they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities -- the Iranians."

You have got to be kidding me. Not only is it undermining our troops who are risking their lives over in Iraq for a stable democratic country, but it is also factually incorrect. If Ms. Pelosi only listened to the recent Petraeus and Crocker testimony they point out that much of the violence that still exists in Iraq is because of the Iranians supplying Hezbollah with weapons to kill Americans in Iraq. Our troops have made significant progress, which she should not even deny. But, to say that the Iranians who we are basically fighting now are the reason for the surge's success in Iraq is just ludicrous and completely disgusting. One of her most repulsive remarks that she has ever said, which just saying that is astonishing. I can't imagine the more radical Cindy Sheehan in the House of Representatives if she takes over Pelosi's seat in San Francisco. Somebody's gotta tell her to stop saying these things. The Republicans have got to step up NOW before the Democrats completely take over Congress. We do not need anymore Pelosi's in Congress.

Don't Award those Delegates

Even though I want to see the Democrats continue to fight for their nomination for their party until the convention, I also realize that they can't unless Michigan and Florida's delegates go to Hillary Clinton, but no delegates should be awarded to either candidate from either state. Trust me I am no Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama supporter, but I play by the rules.

Both Michigan and Florida knew that they would not receive any delegates if they moved up their primaries, even though the Republican Party at least awards half, again another reason to like the Republican Party way of voting during the primary season. The states knew that they would be punished so they should not argue that this will disenfranchise their voters who actually came out to vote because guess what these voters were disenfranchised by their own state. Voters knew that their vote would not mean anything delegate wise, so some argue why did they even vote. Well,  if I was in that situation I probably would still vote because like those voters I know that Americans have died for us to have the right to vote. These voters should not get upset. If they believe in the Democratic Party, then they should vote for their party in the fall.

Another thing neither candidate should complain that the delegates are not seeded because like these voters, they also knew that the delegates would not be awarded before Michigan and Florida's primaries. You cannot change the rules as you go. As much as the Democrats want to play an activist role, you can't keep changing rules from month to month. I'm sorry Hillary, but it is over. You agreed last fall not to compete for the delegates in Michigan and Florida so stop asking for the delegates to be seeded. This DNC Rules Meeting is a disgrace and it just shows you that Howard Dean can't really run anything correctly, campaign or his own party.

Iran needs Tougher Sanctions

The new report released by the IAEA on Iran's possible nuclear weapons was unreported in the mainstream media. The only way I even found out about it was reading the AP Wires and the Drudge Report. I am assuming many Americans did not even know that the unreliable IAEA came out with a report on Iran because of they did, they would be worried just like me. Any time a country does not let the IAEA come in is somewhat suspicious. If they have nothing to hide why not let them in.

President Bush needs to step up and tell the American people about this report. Many have lost trust in the president because they say he lied to the American people, but faulty intelligence is something completely different. President Bush needs to confront Iran and tell them to let the IAEA in to investigate or to face other sanctions. This is a serious situation. The United States are already fighting Iran just not directly. Iran is supplying with arms and money the terrorist group Hezbollah which we are fighting right now in Iraq. Also, they are helping Hezbollah succeed in a pro-Western democratic state Lebanon and are slaughtering those in favor of democracy. This needs to be stopped before it is too late.

Go to Iraq Barack?

It is unbelievable that a presidential candidate who has spoken about pulling out all the troops out of Iraq, has not been there since the successful surge has been put in place. You know who I'm talking about. Mr. Obama's last trip to Iraq was in 2006 when things were not going so well. Now, many people in Iraq say things are vastly improving. Just last week Ambassador Ryan Crocker said that Al Qaeda is on the run. The Iraqi government has made vast improvements politically. When David Petraeus and Ryan Crocker came last time to testify in April they said that the Iraqi government has reached 13 benchmarks when previously reported in September the government only had achieved 5.

Barack Obama should take up John McCain's offer to visit Iraq with him because otherwise it shows him as weak and afraid. Mr. Obama has every reason to be afraid because if he realizes that the issue that he has been staunchly against (keeping troops in Iraq) is really a more positive situation than he speaks about in his speeches, his could lose all credibility. His campaign could be over. Because many people are voting for Barack Obama because of his judgment, well what would it say of a presidential candidate saying things are going bad just for political expediency when in reality things are getting much better in Iraq. Barack Obama needs to stay away from Iraq for his own political objectives. In the end, it will hurt him either if he goes or does not go.

Reporting the News as Usual

May Ratings: FNC Stays On Top

For the 77th consecutive month, FNC finished first in total day and prime time ratings during May. FNC was the sixth highest rated cable network on all of basic cable during prime time for the month (CNN and MSNBC finished 19th and 26th) and the seventh rated network in total day (CNN and MSNBC were 19th and 27th).

FNC also had 11 out of the top 13 programs in cable during the month in Total Viewers. The O'Reilly Factor was the #1 program in cable news for the 90th consecutive month, and saw gains in Total Viewers year-to-year (26%).

Amercia's Newsroom (9-11amET) was up 30% year-to-year, with the program averaging more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined during the time period.

Meanwhile, On the Record with Greta Van Susteren has been #1 for 73 consecutive months in Total Viewers while Hannity & Colmes has been #1 in its timeslot for 54 consecutive months.

Fox News has done it again. They are definitely fair and balanced. Those who claim that is just a Republican station should pay attention to the ratings because Fox News' ratings continue to rise, it must mean something. Thank you Fox News for doing a wonderful job on reporting the news and not making the news.

Just Face the Facts

Democrats just have to face the facts on the ground in Iraq and that is that we are succeeding. The surge has worked amazingly and it is only a shame we did not put more troops in before 2007. Democrats have to realize that if we do pull out right now we will be lying to all those citizens who we promised to protect and chaos would ensue. We are close but the mission is not over.

Even Ambassador Ryan Crocker came out with a report over the weekend that violence in Iraq has hit a four-year low and that Al Qaeda is on the run, but still remain a threat. Before the surge this would seem preposterous and not possible. But, Democrats just have to accept that they were wrong about the surge and pulling out, unless they want chaos and genocide in a region which we could have had another ally which would be considered a great success. Already the Iraqi government has met great stride to help turn their country from a totalitarian regime with Saddam Hussein to a democratic nation. Nouri Al-Maliki should be credited for some of the success too in Iraq. Just face the facts Democrats you were wrong.

What is Jimmy Carter thinking? (Too late to ask)

World Briefing | Middle East

Israel: Carter Offers Details on Nuclear Arsenal

By REUTERS
Published: May 27, 2008

Former President Jimmy Carter said Israel held at least 150 nuclear weapons, the first time a current or former American president had publicly acknowledged the Jewish state’s nuclear arsenal. Asked at a news conference in Wales on Sunday how a future president should deal with the Iranian nuclear threat, he sought to put the risk in context by listing atomic weapons held globally. “The U.S. has more than 12,000 nuclear weapons, the Soviet Union has about the same, Great Britain and France have several hundred, and Israel has 150 or more,” he said, according to a transcript. The existence of Israeli nuclear arms is widely assumed, but Israel has never admitted their existence and American officials have stuck to that line in public for years.

What is Jimmy Carter thinking? Why would he release the amount of nuclear weapons especially when its enemies all surrounding Israel wants to wipe them off the map? Hey Jimmy, if you didn't know Iran is a close neighbor of Israel and Syria is right above. No president have ever released the amount of nuclear weapons of any of our allies especially Israel and for good reason. Those countries in the mideast that want to destroy Israel like Iran and Syria, and terrorist organizations like Hamas Hezbollah now have vital information that could help them plan how to fight Israel. Seriously someone needs to put Jimmy Carter in an asylum before all of America or its allies' secrets are released to those who want to destroy us.

Let's Have a Hearing on All Democrats in Congress

Watching the Democrats in Congress badger oil company executives and try to sue OPEC is so sad, yet absolutely hysterical at the same time. And they wonder why they have a 11 % approval rating. First on the suing of OPEC, prices are only going to go higher if they do get sued, which I do not know on what grounds they could be sued. It's their business and they don't have to give the U.S. any oil. It is purely their choice. Oil Companies can raise the prices to compensate for the costs of the price of oil and the value of the dollar with inflation. It was a priceless moment which really demonstrated the extreme left and their agenda when Maxine Waters of California tried to say nationalizing the oil companies in America, she instead said socialism and she just looked all flustered that even somebody to her left looked at her like she was crazy. Nationalizing is not what America is all about and if she or the other Democrats believe in it maybe they should relocate to Venezuela.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRhBMGFmu5s

The problem is not with OPEC or the oil companies in the United States, it is instead with Congress. The Congress, mainly Democrats who are in bed with tree huggers, could have agreed to drilling in Alaska  or anywhere else about 10 years ago which could have been completed by now, but they refused and they are continuing to refuse. Democrats in Congress have got to realize this; if they don't start drilling or stop with their stupid hearings on speculation, companies making too much money, or trying to sue OPEC, price of gas will continue to rise and it will be purely the Democrats fault.

At Least no Amnesty

Senate deals defeat to Bush on Iraq war spending

By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - In a stunning vote that illustrated President Bush's diminished standing, the Senate on Thursday ignored his veto threat and added tens of billions of dollars for veterans and the unemployed to his Iraq war spending bill

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080523/ap_on_go_co/congress_iraq_funding

At least the Republicans stood up and demanded that the amnesty for illegals would not be allowed to be in the war spending bill, but the Democrats still bombarded the bill with their other programs that does not even relate to the War in Iraq. The bill now spends 28 billion more than the administration intended to. Because the Democrats have control of Congress and the troops need our support and the money will truly help them and it looks like the Democrats will not back down from this extra spending, the president might not have any other choice but to accept this bill.

Say no to Amnesty

Dianne Feinstein's bill that would give 1.35 million illegal aliens who work in agriculture temporary citizen status passed the Appropriations Committee by a vote of 17-15 and will be voted on later this week in the Senate. This is an abomination by Democrats trying to pass their left wing agenda in a bill that is supposed to be for our troops who are risking their lives in trying to restore democracy in Iraq. This bill should be for the troops, but the Democrats place this unwanted piece of legislation because they know the Republicans will have a hard time not providing money and aid to the troops. Lets hope the Republican leadership in the Senate (hopefully somebody takes the lead) and do their best of removing this disgusting piece of legislation from a bill supporting our troops overseas. Global Warming Update

31,000 scientists reject
'global warming' agenda

'Mr. Gore's movie has claims
no informed expert endorses'

I guess not the entire scientific community has agreed with Al Gore's claims of global warming and the rest of the left wing media. Teachings of this so called warming in schools need to stop unless teachers present both sides of the issue in a fair and balanced explanation.

Brian Williams and the Rest of the Left Wing Media is Wrong

Scientist Shifts View on Global Warming

By SETH BORENSTEIN,
AP

WASHINGTON (May 18) - Global warming isn't to blame for the recent jump in hurricanes in the Atlantic, concludes a study by a prominent federal scientist whose position has shifted on the subject.

Not only that, warmer temperatures will actually reduce the number of hurricanes in the Atlantic and those making landfall, research meteorologist Tom Knutson reported in a study released Sunday.

This expert is not just anybody who refutes the claims of global warming. He is taking a step in acknowledging the fact that this so called warming will not cause more hurricanes. Brian Williams and the left wing driven agenda media meaning every network but Fox News continue to blame natural disasters like hurricanes to global warming. It just goes to show you people in the media should not make the news but instead report the news.

Vast Right Wing Conspiracy?

Obama blames Fox News, e-mail for likely loss in Kentucky

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/37388.html

It's that vast right wing conspiracy again that Hillary is always talking about. If anybody is to blame for his possible loss in Kentucky it can only be himself. He is out of touch with the everyday person because of his elitism status that at least blue collar voters recognize and the results in West Virginia highlights just that. Kentucky just like West Virginia has many blue collar voters which he lost by a wide margin in last Tuesday's primary. If Barack Obama wants to keep on blaming Fox News for the entire general election he can do so, but he should start by trying to appeal to those blue collar voters and reassure voters that he is not an elitist.

Good Night and Good Luck to Keith Olbermann, Hopefully

Saying that Keith Olbermann has gone too far is not new news. The statements that he makes time and time again makes a mockery of the news and most of all the United States of America. He reports the news as through his eyes. The last time I checked that is not how the news should be reported.

The statements that he recently said on Wednesday's show is repulsive. It was a 12 minute diatribe in his so called special comment section that bashed the president and all those who are fighting over in the middle east. Among those comments he told the president to shut the hellp up and this: "America you have now created, includes ‘cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objectives?" What does he mean by that? To me it makes a mockery of those fighting for democracy in Iraq. If you need any more information of why people should not watch MSNBC, just watch his rant online.

What is more appalling is that he continues to make a mockery of the War in Iraq by closing off every show by reporting on how many days since our president who has protected us for over 7 years mistakenly  reported mission accomplished.

Freedom of speech is what makes the United States a great country, but this spewing of hatred is destroying the credibility of the news media, himself (doesn't really have any just like Jimmy Carter) and most importantly all who live in this country and those who are defending us and putting their lives on the lines day in and day out.

If MSNBC wants to attract new viewers say good night and good luck to Keith Olbermann.
