They're Ready Why Aren't We?

Iran to ready thousands of graves for enemy soldiers

TEHRAN (AFP) — Iran is to dig 320,000 graves in border districts to allow for the burial of enemy soldiers in the event of any attack on its territory, a top commander said on Sunday.

Day in and day out the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has criticized President Bush saying that he will not attack and constantly is criticizing Israel how Iran will destroy them. If the Iranians are ready, we should be getting ready before it is too late. We need to protect our greatest ally Israeli allies and try to ensure that Middle East doesn't turn into complete chaos. The time is now; all of our allies have tried to talk to Iran and even have offered them incentives to dispose of their nuclear facilities, but they have not listened. They haven't given the United States many options. If they are ready, why aren't we?

Could There be a Bigger Flip Flopper than John Kerry?

If you just look at the record of Barack Obama from his time in the state legislature in Illinois to the United States Senate to the primary season and now the general election campaign he has time and time again changed his views. David Brooks describes these flip flops in an outstanding piece:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/20/opinion/20brooks.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Also, in a McClatchy piece goes more in depth of his flip flops:
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/42361.html

Wow, I never knew anybody could flip flop more than John Kerry. Talk about being politically expedient. Is that change we can believe in?

What Can You Do?

Rush Limbaugh said it best today on his radio program
If a person breaks into your house and rapes your children are you allowed to shoot the person?

It is a good question because the SCOTUS says you can't execute child rapists, but on the other hand every American has the right own a gun for to self defense in their home.

Constitution Actually Means Something

Court rules in favor of Second Amendment gun right

By MARK SHERMAN
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court says Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, the justices' first major pronouncement on gun rights in U.S. history.

The court's 5-4 ruling strikes down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns as incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment. The decision goes further than even the Bush administration wanted, but probably leaves most firearms laws intact.

Well I guess Justice Kennedy had read my blog from last night. Now he needs to think over the summer whether he wants to be an activist judge or strict constructionist judge, but I digress. This decision is a big win for gun owners and for all those who believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution. Now the 2nd amendment actually means something well to at least 5 judges out of 9.

Big Day for Sanctity of Constitution

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court of the United States will announce their ruling on the DC gun ban case. This case will show whether or not our constitution actually means something to these judges. Our second amendment clearly states:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The way the activist court has been ruling and especially Mr. Habeas Corpus Rights himself and President Reagan's biggest mistake Anthony Kennedy has recently ruled, it does not look good for gun rights and protecting the sanctity of our constitution. Hopefully, he can rule to protect the constitution tomorrow and take a nice break over the summer to rethink his recent rulings with the majority like giving foreign enemy combatants captured by the United States overseas habeas corpus rights and just today not accepting that the rape of a child is the most egregious offense, which does warrant the death penalty.

Associations Have to Matter

It seems like only republicans seem to think that associations matter. If you ignore the disastrous politics of Barack Obama, which I think no one should ignore, but for the purpose of this discussion just focus on associations there is no way anybody should vote for him this November. Just watch this video, it explains it all:

Big Week in Supreme Court

Supreme Court meets Monday morning

The Associated Press

Mon, Jun 23, 2008 (3:57 a.m.)

The Supreme Court begins what almost certainly is its final week of work before its summer break with 10 cases left to decide. Among the big issues are gun rights and the death penalty for rape of a child.

The court is meeting Monday morning to issue opinions and announce whether it has accepted any new cases to argue during the next term.

The justices still have not handed down decisions in a landmark Second Amendment case on the meaning of the right to keep and bear arms. Also awaiting a decision is a challenge to a Louisiana law that allows people convicted of raping children to be given the death penalty.

These decisions could be decided by today or later this week. It sure should be an exciting week for those of us who follow the currently 5 activist judges.

Speaking Democrat: Funny but Frightening

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EcQ03qRE1s

Thaddeus McCotter, Republican representative of the 11th district of Michigan illustrates how to speak Democrat and translates for the viewers that while what they say might sound good it really is disastrous for the economy, national security, and the well being and future of the United States. This is a very funny video, but at the same time very frightening because this is what the Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama Democrats want to do to this country. They want to destroy all that is good about the United States.

FISA: Good Enough?

The FISA bill probably will pass, which is great, but it still is not enough to protect us from those who want to do us harm. This bill limits the amount of searching for terrorist communicating because of probable cause, but as Andrew McCarthy of National Review states is the problem with having probable cause trying to apprehend terrorists is that:
The standard has no place in national-security surveillance against foreign threats. If you have probable cause, you already have strong indications that someone is a threat. That’s too late.

He is no doubt right. Until the Federal Government can be able to search and try to find these terrorists without any need of probable cause or the need to ask federal district courts whether or not this person's phone could be wiretapped, terrorists will continue to plan attacks and probably in the not so distant future successfully attack the United States again. But, this FISA Bill is probably the best we would get because of the Democratic Congress in bed with the ACLU. Of course we do not want the federal government to just tap any person's phone, but to meet the standards of probable cause in this day and age with terrorists trying to kill us, everything and anything needs to be done to protect us.

Talk About Hypocrisy

Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month
Gore’s personal electricity consumption up 10%, despite “energy-efficient” home renovations

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

This is total hypocrisy. Anybody who says we should listen to Al Gore, maybe we really should now. That means using more energy and not being energy-efficient. A person who can't win his own state in an election and is a hypocrite sounds like a big a help for Obama.

Frightening but True

Commentary: Halloween Scare at US Border
(CNSNews.com) - On Oct. 31, 2006, a covert U.S. government agent pulled to the side of a Canadian highway at the U.S. border to test the effectiveness of U.S. border security. Thanks to a GAO videotape that's been posted online, what happened next -- or didn't happen -- is there for all to see.   Read the commentary

If this video does not alert Homeland Security, Congress, the president, and the American public I don't know what will. Our borders need to be secured. We can not let any person just randomly cross it. We need armed guards who know that their mission is to apprehend all people trying to sneak over the border and not let people cross because they might have weapons. If these guards are in danger they have every right to defend themselves and should do so. This situation needs to be fixed now. This video is truly frightening and it shows that not only our southern border needs to be tended to, but also up north too. This has become a national security issue.

Improving Conditions

Military Successes Drive Anbar Casualties to Post-Invasion Low
(CNSNews.com) - U.S. causalities in Iraq's once-volatile Anbar Province have dropped in recent months to the lowest levels since the U.S. invasion in March 2003, a fact some analysts attribute to the success of the 2004 Battle of Fallujah and the more recent "surge" strategy that increased U.S. troops in the province.   Full Story

The situation in Iraq just keeps on improving. If John McCain keeps reiterating that the situation in Iraq has vastly improved and we can fully succeed in Iraq, even the voters who don't like war hopefully will understand that our national security and our greatest ally Israel would be in danger if we withdrew our troops from Iraq.

This Has Got to Stop!

Ahmadinejad: 'Wicked' Bush's Term is At an End and He Will Not Attack Iran

SHAHR-E-KORD, Iran —  Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says that while U.S. President George W. Bush "desired" to attack Iran he will not do so now.

He continues to challenge the United States and our president George Bush. This kind of rhetoric has got to stop. President Bush needs to step up and say something. Those who want to give the president of Iran incentives to stop trying to build his nuclear weapons is nothing other than appeasement. Nothing will convince him to stop building his nuclear weapons.

This is Getting Crazy

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Senate Republicans have blocked a Democratic plan to tax the windfall profits of the largest oil companies.

Democrats on Tuesday failed, 51-43, to get the 60 votes needed to overcome a GOP filibuster of the energy package, and bring the bill up for consideration.

This is a joke. The Democrats wanted to tax windfall profits on large oil companies, but why should companies who make money in America be taxed enormously. They have every right to make the money that they are making. because that is what oil is costing nowadays. The last time there was a windfall tax in 1980 less gas was produced and it did not accomplish its intended goal. Also, the Democrats planned on prohibiting OPEC from continued to raise the oil prices, but they have every right to do whatever they want. OPEC does not have to distribute its oil to anyplace. Its good this motion for cloture was defeated, but not too far from now when Democrats receive more members in Congress of their own party in the fall, these kind of bills will get passed.
