Finally Some Progress

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush has signed an executive order requiring contractors and others who do business with the federal government to make sure their employees can legally work in the U.S.

Finally we made some progress to try to remove incentives for illegal immigrants to come into this country. If jobs are not available to these illegal immigrants they will return to their original country. This is a good start, but all companies not only the federal government needs to be allowed to check their status of their employee's.

Democrats Still Can't do Anything Right

Senate climate bill blocked

Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Senate Republicans on Friday blocked a global warming bill that would have required major reductions in greenhouse gases, after a bitter debate over its economic costs and whether it would substantially raise gasoline and other energy prices.

Democratic leaders fell a dozen votes short of getting the 60 needed to end a Republican filibuster on the measure and bring the bill up for a vote. The 48-36 vote failed to reach even a majority, a disappointment to the bill's supporters.

Thank you for those who voted against this disastrous bill and kept the GOP filibuster alive.

Vote NO

There will be a big vote on the Climate Destruction Bill today because Harry Reid is not allowing any time to add amendments or to further debate the bill. I hope Republicans will step up and also some Democrats and realize that this bill would destroy our economy. All those in Congress today vote no on this disastrous bill.

Associations Have to Matter

Political fundraiser Rezko convicted of many counts in Illinois pay-to-play corruption trial

CHICAGO (AP) -- A prominent fundraiser for Sen. Barack Obama and Gov. Rod Blagojevich was convicted of fraud, money laundering and bribery Wednesday after a trial that exposed a corrupt culture of payoffs and campaign finance abuses plaguing Illinois politics.

Associations have to matter at some point. Barack Obama is or was associated with preachers who hate America and are racist, unrepentant terrorists, and now a convicted criminal.

Republicans Need to Step Up Now

While the Senate debates a bill that basically is going to have a negative impact on the economy for very minuscule environmental impact, the Republicans have to step up and come together and reject this horrible piece of legislation. I'm sure everybody by now knows what I'm talking about and that is the Lieberman-Warner Bill. What I don't understand is how any sane person could even think about voting in favor of this bill. I've read some many articles bashing this bill that if it somehow does pass, I think I will definitely lose faith in the United States Congress in their inept understanding of the world around them.

This bill will create such negative impact that people will lose jobs and have to pay more for gas and energy for their homes. ALL Republicans need to reject this bill and try to reach across the aisle and convince their colleagues that this bill would create such a negative impact on the United States' economy that millions of jobs could be lost for only a reduction of temperature of about one tenth celsius. Many scientists and Americans believe that global warming does not exist so why put us out of jobs and raise all our costs of energy and gas. Any Republican who does vote for this bill should be really looked closely and see if they actually have a sane mind or like one like Jimmy Carter or Nancy Pelosi.
