Barack Obama does not understand why people would only want English only signs or people only to speak English. Well, I'll tell you Mr. Obama. People like me want signs of English only because that is what this country is founded upon. The national language should be English. The American people do not need to assimilate to other immigrants coming here, those immigrants need to assimilate to us, those who speak English. Even though we have many who speak foreign languages, they should learn English first, because that is what ties Americans together, a common language. If English is not a national language and we allow people to speak other languages in government offices or any jobs, America itself will fall apart.
Another note for you Mr. Obama, in those schools they are taught English because they recognize that English is a widely spoken language across the world. We are not taught other languages, only by choice. Why should Americans be forced to learn languages they do not want to speak, when at the same time English is not being enforced as the national language in this country? Multiculturalism does not help America it destroys all of what America is about. Immigrants need to start assimilating to an American way of life, otherwise why come to this country. If you say because of economic opportunity, well that is part of being an American because that is called liberty. Another part of coming to this country and becoming an American is speaking English first above all other languages.
Also, it seems that Barack Obama does not speak another language. Any person who does not do something that he wants others to do is none other than a hypocrite. Or another term is a typical Washington politician. Is that change we can believe in?
