Barack Obama claims that he was right along on his judgment on the War in Iraq. Yet, he was opposed to the surge, even though now his website is taking down those statements (
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/07/obama_scrubs_website_of_surge.html). The surge has worked magnificently and so many wonderful things have occurred because of it. He claims there isn't enough political reconciliation on the part of the Iraqi's, but I consider 15 out of 18 benchmarks considered satisfactory a great success, leaving room for more. Also, there would not be an opportunity to even consider a withdrawal
if it was not for the surge that Mr. Obama was so adominatly opposed
to. Even then, a withdrawal can not be done until the leaders say that
it is safe and beneficial to the Iraqi's and would not leave them in a
bad situation.
He claims that we should move troops to Afghanistan to fight Al-Qaeda because that is where they are. But, again he is wrong because the majority of them are hiding out in Pakistan. No one says that we should take off our eyes off Afghanistan, but things have to be safe for us to move from one country to another. He has got to decide if he wants to win the war against terrorism and make sure our troops are not hastily removed from a country or if he wants to associate himself with moveon.org and code pink groups. Knowing Obama after watching him the last year nobody knows exactly where he is going, it truly depends on the time of day.
