Too Much Fox News Overseas?

FNC to Obama: Troops Can Change the Channel

Obama_FNC_7.23.bmpObama wonders why Fox News is always on Armed Forces Television and he thinks that it might have something to do with President Bush's decision. The Fox &Friends hosts said it perfectly today that the military have the right to choose whatever channel that they want. Also, they called Senator Obama out by saying that maybe the military chooses to watch Fox News because the network is actually fair and balanced and do not make the news, they only report the news. The network is already the most watched news network in America, now apparently according to Senator Obama the military also considers it fair and balanced along with the rest of America.

Republicans Have to Explain Themselves

The big bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is bad as is, but could you have thought it could get worse, I thought it couldn't. Apparently money will also be doled out to La Raza aka The Race and ACORN, two far far far left organizations that want to give illegals many benefits that they do not deserve. The Race wants to give illegals driver licenses, want open borders,   and continually reject tough immigration policies among many other things. While ACORN registers illegals to vote, encourages voter fraud, and abuses taxpayer funding. If you don't believe I refer you to:

All Republicans in the House and Senators who vote for this probably soon should come out and explain why they voted for this piece of legislation. Not only that this bailout goes against all of our American practices, this bill also funds La Raza and ACORN. Larry Kudlow calls it best that this bailout is nothing other than big government socialism and it is just that. Republicans have to explain why they would vote for this bill. If they say that Americans are hurting, conservatives need to respond by saying well we are hurting when you Republicans do not represent our best interests and especially not conservative principles.

Media Bias Taking Its Toll

NY Times misses Wall Street revenue forecast

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Times Co.'s second-quarter earnings fell 82 percent from a year ago, when it saw a one-time gain from the sale of a unit, but print advertising continued to shrink and pulled down operating income, the publisher said Wednesday.

Net income dropped to $21.1 million, or 15 cents per share, from $118.4 million, or 82 cents per share, a year ago. In the second quarter of 2007, the company got a 66-cents-per-share boost from selling its broadcast media group but also took a 14-cent hit from other one-time items.

There is Actually a Differene Between the Two Quotes

Hot Air captured the following passage from the English translation of Maliki’s Der Spiegel interview:

SPIEGEL: Would you hazard a prediction as to when most of the US troops will finally leave Iraq?

Maliki: As soon as possible, as far as we’re concerned. US presidential candidate Barack Obama is right when he talks about 16 months. Assuming that positive developments continue, this is about the same time period that corresponds to our wishes.

Here’s how the exchange reads now:

SPIEGEL: Would you hazard a prediction as to when most of the US troops will finally leave Iraq?

Maliki: As soon as possible, as far as we’re concerned. U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about 16 months. That, we think, would be the right timeframe for a withdrawal, with the possibility of slight changes.

Apparently Der Speigel said:

“His original words were unprintable. It would have been embarrassing to him. So we edited it,” says Müller von Blumencron. “There are very few people you can do a Q&A with without editing for grammar. And you always have to make it shorter.”

The German press is apparently just like the MSM in America, they do not report the news, they make the news instead. Verbatim remarks are kind of important, short is not important when it comes to an important remark by the prime minister of Iraq.
