Massive Housing Bill Passes Key Senate Vote

WASHINGTON —  The Senate cleared the last hurdle Friday to passing a housing rescue aimed at sparing hundreds of thousands of homeowners from foreclosure and bolstering troubled mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The 80-13 test vote showed broad support for the election-year package and put it on track to pass the Senate by Saturday. The White House says President Bush will sign it, having earlier dropped a threat to veto it over $3.9 billion in neighborhood grants.

This is disgusting. If  President Bush does sign this big government socialism bill, he should explain why he is doing this and how it will truly help taxpayers. Also, why should the government bailout businesses who gave out shaky loans and the people who took out the loans. Both knew the potential consequences. I not only will post the Republicans who have voted to invoke cloture, but I feel it is also important to mention the 13 Conservatives who voted in the negative. Those Conservatives should be commended. While this vote is only for cloture, it does look like it will pass in the Senate soon. I hope these Republicans reconsider their vote for cloture today and realize that telling no business that they could fail does not help them. Also, that people should be held responsible for their borrowing of those loans.

FNC to Obama: Troops Can Change the Channel

Obama_FNC_7.23.bmpObama wonders why Fox News is always on Armed Forces Television and he thinks that it might have something to do with President Bush's decision. The Fox &Friends hosts said it perfectly today that the military have the right to choose whatever channel that they want. Also, they called Senator Obama out by saying that maybe the military chooses to watch Fox News because the network is actually fair and balanced and do not make the news, they only report the news. The network is already the most watched news network in America, now apparently according to Senator Obama the military also considers it fair and balanced along with the rest of America.
