She is Actually Running for President

It wouldn’t be an election cycle without Cynthia McKinney’s lunacy, and fortunately she hasn’t shied away from providing it.  Here, we watch as the Green Party’s endorsed presidential candidate accuses National Guard soldiers of committing 5,000 murders of prisoners in the wake of Hurricane Katrina:

First, some accuse President Bush of starting 9/11 and now she accuses the National Guard of killing 5,000 people instead of protecting them. Could it get anymore vitriolic? I can't wait to read and hear what she says next.

I Still Can't Support It

This so called modified version of the bailout bill that failed to pass in the House is up for a vote tonight in the Senate. This will probably pass, but it shouldn't. This version of the bill supposedly is better than the previous version, but it still does not solve many questions and still puts the taxpayer on the hook. The modified version is actually longer than the House's version of the bill. I understand that something needs to be done to help our financial crisis, but these bills are the same; there are ways that government will be expanded and it is socialist at its core. I hope conservatives in the Senate stand up against this bill and I also urge Democrats too. This is an important time in America and this bill is not the answer but the problem.

Could it Get Any Easier?

The New Citizenship Test: Can Americans Pass It?

Wednesday, October 01, 2008

By Jennifer Lawinski

Never mind being smarter than a fifth-grader. Are you smart enough to be a U.S. citizen?

This test is so basic and easy, yet many Americans when asked failed the test. This is a problem especially when these questions being asked are so basic that a 5th grader should know. The problem is that we do not teach civics in our schools or just not enough. Everybody should know the answers to these questions because after all these questions reflect your knowledge on your country's history. I think these questions are too easy to give to immigrants, but the real problem with it is that Americans can not answer them correctly. This is a real problem in our educational system and this of all things I would say should be taught or retaught first before any other subject. Being an American is more than just freedom of speech or the U.S. Constitution, it is also knowing about your country's history and understanding it because that is what brings us together.. If Americans can not answer these basic questions correctly, America will have trouble surviving. Here are the questions that foxnews listed on their website:

1. What does the Constitution do?
2. What do we call the first 10 amendments to the Constitution?
3. Name one branch or part of the government.
4. We elect a U.S. representative for how many years?
5. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
6. How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?
7. When is the last day you can send in federal income tax forms?
8. There were 13 original states. Name three.
9. Who was president during World War I?
10. Name one U.S. territory.

For the answers and the story you can go here:

Focuses on blacks who are 'forging a bold new path to political power'

The moderator of Thursday's vice-presidential debate is writing a book to come out about the time the next president takes the oath of office that aims to "shed new light" on Democratic candidate Barack Obama and other "emerging young African American politicians" who are "forging a bold new path to political power."

Gwen Ifill of the Public Broadcasting Service program "Washington Week" is promoting "The Breakthrough," in which she argues the "black political structure" of the civil rights movement is giving way to men and women who have benefited from the struggles over racial equality.

Ifill declined to return a WND telephone message asking for a comment about her book project and whether its success would be expected should Obama lose. But she has faced criticism previously for not treating candidates of both major parties the same.
