Another Democrat in Obama's Administration Involved in Controversy

Bumps in the Road: Obama's HHS Secretary Nominee Faces Tax Questions Over Car and Driver

January 30, 2009 6:29 PM

ABC News has learned that the nomination of former Senator Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., to be President Obama's Secretary of Health and Human Services has hit a traffic snarl on its way through the Senate Finance Committee.

The controversy deals with a car and driver lent to Daschle by a wealthy Democratic friend, a chauffeur service the former senator used for years without declaring it on his taxes.

An Inconvenient Debt

Yesterday, on the Glenn Back Program on the Fox News Channel, he presented our financial crisis with a big chart that showed if we keep printing more and more money there will be massive inflation. During the segment, he pointed out that the amount of money in circulation has skyrocketed since the 1960's because of the Great Society.

I'm With Rush For Wanting Obama's Marxists Policies to Fail

Are you with Obama or Rush?

President Obama and a key outside ally are stepping up efforts to ensure passage of the massive economic stimulus package, reaching out to Congress with both carrots and sticks.

Politico has learned that tomorrow Americans United for Change, a liberal group, will begin airing radio ads in three states Obama won — Ohio, Pennsylvania and Nevada — with a tough question aimed at the GOP senators there: Will you side with Obama or Rush Limbaugh?

We Do Not Need to Apologize to Muslims

Even though President Obama thinks so and said so during his first television interview to al-Arabiya, the United States does not need to apologize to Muslims. Charles Krauthammer writes about this in his column today, which I have to say is right on target.

Stephanopoulos's Conflict of Interest

ABC News? George Stephanopoulos is engaged in daily private phone briefings with Obama Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emanuel.

He then presents himself as a credible journalist and nonpartisan commentator in reporting about the administration. Such a move crosses journalistic lines, is a clear conflict of interest and must be stopped immediately.
