Yesterday, Media Matters hosted a panel at the National Press Club
where five liberal activists discussed the use of “extremist” language
by the conservative media and its allegedly violent effects. “We all
need to set a tone for civil national discourse,” declared Nancy M.
Zirkin of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. It was a noble
sentiment, though a bit ironic at an event where liberals tarred
conservatives as bigots who inspire other bigots to commit acts of
violence.
“FOX News is really mainstreaming this sort of vigilante almost
malicious rhetoric,” Media Matters senior fellow Eric Boehlert said. He
added that Lou Dobbs and pretty much everyone at FOX News were a “toxic
group of people.”

Maybe it's just me, but Fox News does not have toxic group of people. Fox News has conservatives, liberals, and libertarians, and independents on the channel. Having a conservative opinion, which Media Matters really is really targeting, does not make you a extremist, but to liberals and those at Media Matters, conservatives are evil people. They target specifically Lou Dobbs and he considers himself a libertarian. How is he a bad person? Just because Mr. Dobbs wants our immigration policy to be enforced that makes him a bad person. No, I believe that makes him an American.
But, this is the thing that the left has always done. If you are for strong immigration enforcement and against illegal immigration, you are racist. I was called racist many times, but that is far away from what I am. The left says Fox News is so biased and a far right wing organization, but I, as a conservative do not see that. When I think of a far right person, I think of a conservative and there isn't many conservatives at the network. I think Fox News balances its commentators with their political views very well. Of all the talk about conservatives at the station, there is only one identified conservative and that would be Sean Hannity. All the other commentators are either liberal or libertarian or independent. Also, their reporters and anchors do not show a bias when they are on air as opposed to MSNBC and CNN and that is what makes Fox News a wonderful network. This is also why Fox News is successful as opposed to the other two cable news networks. Far right organization, I think not, instead the organization is just a little less to the left.
