Sotomayor Confirmation Hearing Day Four (Updatedx7)

The questioning will begin at 930am. and it is expected that Senator Kyl will be speaking first. There are still 9 Senators left in the second round of questioning. Each Senator has 20 minutes to ask questions if they oblige to use that time. After the conclusion of the second round there will be witness panels. There are 31 witnesses that are expected to speak. Expected to speak are former pitcher David Cone, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Mayor Frank Ricci, among many others.

Update: The second round is close to concluding with four or five Senators remaining. The Republicans have asked for a third round of questioning and Senator Leahy has agreed to that. If any Senator wants to ask another round of questions they can, but this time they will have only 10 minutes to ask questions. After that, the witness panels will begin.

Update2: The third round of questioning has concluded and now witness panels will shortly begin.

Update3: Witness panels have now begun.

Here is a link to the witness:

Update4: Frank Ricci is now speaking.

Update5: The rest of the witnesses are now speaking.

Update6: The last panel of witnesses has five people on it. After that, the hearing will adjourn. The Senate Judiciary Committee has a vote set for Tuesday.

Update7: The last panel has now concluded and the hearing has officially completed. As I said before the Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on Sotomayor on Tuesday. Watching this whole process I gained even more confidence that Senator Sessions is the right man to lead the party along with Senators DeMint, Coburn, and Inhofe. I thought he did a magnificent job in his first Supreme Court hearing as the ranking member. Sotomayor will get confirmed because like Senator Graham said that barring any meltdown she will get confirmed. She held her composure and did not have any meltdowns. I still can't get past all her contradictions because like President Obama says all the time words matter and her words in the past conflicted what she had to say during the hearing. There is no way she could explain her past statements and rulings, but during the hearing she completely avoided answering any questions. Its a Senators duty to protect the Constitution and if any Senator does not vote no on confirming Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court, they would be failing to live up to that promise. Now we just have to wait and see who votes yes and no and as always I will report on that as soon as it happens.
