Army official says suspects are soldiers, victims include one police officer; U.S. official IDs gunman as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan.
Update: It was just reported on Fox News that the two suspects that were being held in custody have been released. This was reported by Shepard Smith as he got word from Congressmen John Carter who represents that district.
Update 2: During the interview with the shooter's cousin, he revealed that Hasan was not a convert, but instead was raised as a Muslim. He complained about his deployment and was very frustrated with it. Also, we now know that he was a critic of U.S. foreign policy, per an interview with a former colleague who worked with him at Fort Hood named Terry Lee. Terry Lee said that Hasan said that Muslims have a right to fight against us in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Update 3: Congressmen John Carter said that he was told by Fort Hood that another person was picked up.
