I really don't know what to say about the passing of ObamaCare. I just really don't. I have been crying a lot since the bill passed and ever since Rep. Stupak announced that he caved in to the will of Obama and House Democrats. I wish I had something to say that is coherent and optimistic, but I just don't. Because of Stupak and how he decided he just needed political cover to vote for this bill, the bill passed and because of him, he has helped destroy this country. Well, Mr. Stupak, you do not have political cover because the people so watch out in November. I once thought he was taking a principled stand, but after seeing Rep. Stupak bash and excoriate House Republicans on their motion to recommit, I know now that you are a fraud. You care more about politics than protecting the sanctity of life and would do anything to get reelected even if it means forcing taxpayers to pay for abortion. You are a disgrace.
Some might say hey we can still repeal this. I ask them, really, I just don't think so based on past history. Our country that I know you and I love is no longer the same. We are forever more beholden to the government. The liberals and progressives have wanted this for so long because it means full control over the individual and with the passing of the bill they have achieved just that. Our Constitution has been shredded up so many ways, some could even argue if we even have a Constitution anymore.
There are so many bad things in the bill that I could not even mention here. Just to name a few: Brand new $2 trillion entitlement program. Premiums will rise. The fact that this plan is already in Massachusetts and does not work should say something. Taxpayers will now have to pay for abortion. Rationing of care. The 30 million who do not have health insurance still will not because the "benefits" does not kick in for another four years and anyways the 30 million were always eligible for health insurance, but chose not to for whatever reason. 12 Million of those 30 million will be still uninsured. People will still not be able to purchase health insurance across state lines. There is no tort reform in the bill. The bill will destroy private insurance companies and the government will be the only insurance company. The government will now be forcing ordinary citizens to purchase health insurance even if they choose not to. If the person chooses not to, there will be a fine assessed and possibly jail time. But, the scariest thing about the bill is just how much bigger the government is and the increased role it will not have in our lives. We, the people, do not have power, but instead 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Congress, and every other federal agencies have power. We might be able to vote out members of Congress, but so much damage can still be done and has been done that it will be very hard to regain the greatness that our country used to be remembered for.
So what now and what do we do? I really don't have the answer to those questions. So many people have stood up to the Reid, Pelosi, and Obama axis of evil and look what happened in the end. They were able to pass ObamaCare without any Republican support and completely ignored the American people. I do not know a time where the public was in such great opposition to any one piece of legislation and the majority party still shoved it through. This bill is monumental. Obama got his victory and I wish I could say that he just won the battle and we will win the war, but as the health care process has shown me and what the passing of this bill means, I really am not that optimistic.
