More than three amendments have already been tabled, but this story that I'm about to post is the most recent update on what is going on in the Senate. I have counted 13 amendments being tabled by the Democrats as of this moment.
Vote-a-Rama Update (3 Down, a Ton to Go)
March 24, 2010 6:43 PM
ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf reports: Senate Democrats are taking their lumps in the reconciliation vote-a-rama that started around 5:30pm today. But so far, they’re sticking together.
We’re an hour in and already Democrats have had to vote:
1. In favor of cutting Medicare – 56-42
2. In favor of keeping voted to keep the special deals for Louisiana, Montana and other states - 54-43
3. Against
an amendment to exempt anyone making less than $250,000 from having to
pay any taxes associated with the legislation – 56-43.
Republicans' full list of amendments – currently there are 20, but we’re told more will be added -- is HERE.
